For evaluators

This page is for jail medical directors, physical therapists, custody leadership, IT, and compliance staff deciding whether Veridian Motion fits your facility. It summarizes what the product does today, how it works, what it does not include, and where to read more.

What Veridian Motion is

Veridian Motion is Veridian Health Partners’ flagship physical therapy platform for correctional facilities. It connects:
  • An inmate kiosk — structured MSK intake (body map, complaint, four posture photos)
  • A provider dashboard — licensed PT review, exercise planning, messaging, and controlled release to the inmate
AI assists PTs with non-diagnostic triage support. A licensed PT must review and approve everything before it reaches an inmate. The product does not diagnose.

Why facilities consider it

Correctional settings see high volumes of musculoskeletal complaints — back, shoulder, knee, and posture-related issues — often with limited on-site PT time. Untreated or poorly triaged MSK problems can escalate into costlier outcomes: emergency transfers, prolonged disability, repeat sick calls, and in some cases litigation. Veridian Motion aims to improve inmate wellbeing through early, structured assessment and PT-reviewed bodyweight exercise plans delivered inside custody — without replacing in-person care when red flags warrant it.
Veridian Motion does not include medical billing, coding, EHR integration, live video visits, or partner API connectivity in the current release. Those capabilities may be considered in future phases.

How it works (summary)

1

Staff enroll the inmate

An admin creates the account and receives an inmate number + PIN for custody handoff.
2

Inmate completes kiosk intake

Body map → complaint (optional voice-to-text) → four-view photos → submit. The inmate sees confirmation only — no AI output.
3

Server processes the assessment

AI triage support is generated server-side (multi-LLM router with failover). Output appears in the staff dashboard only.
4

Admin assigns a PT

New submissions sit in an unassigned queue until assigned.
5

PT reviews and releases

Red flags first, then photos, AI observations, draft plan. PT edits the plan, adds notes, marks reviewed. Approved content appears in the inmate’s My plan / progress view.

Limitations (read before pilot)

  • Not diagnostic — AI provides triage support; PT retains clinical authority
  • Not emergency response — red flags prompt review; facility protocols govern urgent care
  • Not HIPAA-certified — HIPAA-aligned design; BAA required for production PHI
  • Not CJIS-authorized or FedRAMP-authorized — agency provides compliant hosting and MDM
  • Limited offline — submit and photo upload require network connectivity
  • AI can be wrong — models may miss or mischaracterize; PT review is mandatory
